Time is precious, but I'm so used to not having any that I just can't sit down and relax. Since the summer things seem to be a bit calmer at home in the evenings, with Elise going to school for at least the morning every day I ought to take the opportunity to chill a bit and catch up. Instead I've started 3 courses, including an Open University Health & Social Care course, and have also started a programme of therapy for the children with the Brainwave Centre. They say there's no rest for the wicked...
We spent 3 days at the Brainwave Centre this week having Michael and then Elise's initial assessment. Each day at home we follow a programme of exercises based on the theory of neuroplasticity for each of the children which takes roughly half an hour. Its another hour gone from the day but its been great fun so far and I'm really hopeful we will see positive results. In fact I was really impressed by the whole "Brainwave Experience", especially the way the therapists quickly designed a programme of exercises appropriate to Michael and Elise's needs. If I can find a little time (!) I'll try and write up a detailed diary of the therapy programme but in the meanwhile if you are thinking about going to Brainwave and have any questions feel free to ask via the forum or the Contact Us link.
