Home-Start
Home-Start is a voluntary organisation which provides free, regular support, friendship and practical help to any family with at least one child under 5 who may be under stress. This support is informal and flexible and aims overall to enable the family to gain independence once things are on an even keel. Some people are only visited for a short while others need support fo much longer. All volunteers are trained and are affiliated to particular families. Most families are referred to Home-Start through health visitors and social workers but no family can be referred without the family's consent.Homestart runs schemes across the UK.
