Statement Innacuracies
on 10 Aug 2006
Meant to write this yesterday but have just got our daughter's provisional statement through and surprise, surprise, it is not accurate! I nearly fainted in my shock that I had to chase something up!! Apparently it seems that my daughter's squint is more noteworthy than her moderate learning difficulties and associated behavioural issues! It also transpires that the out of county panel have completely misinterpreted the educational psychologists report - they said that she has no significant cognitive delay whilst the educational psychologist actually said that she did not know if our daughters delay was due to anything more than her physical difficulties. Spent the evening emailing our case worker - it was supposed to be a short note but ended up a bit of an epic. Honestly, I sometimes wonder who has got the special needs - our children or those people in power who consistently seem to be unable to do their jobs properly! Argh!
My lack of patience has not been helped by having a bad back this week. Not surprising really as both of our children have to be frequently carried, lifted into chairs, bath etc. I am not sure what to do about it as they still need carrying, bad back or not. I do not know about you but we have never been offered any advice on lifting, apart from bending the knees that is! On a positive note, I had my first child free day in 13 months this week as both of our children went to Summer Fun Club at my son’s school which they have loved. Spent the whole day cleaning and sorting out - boring I know but I will sit down with that box of chocs and a good film one of these days!
